John Signa, Managing Director
John Signa is co-founder and Managing Director of Element78, where he is responsible for the overall strategy and operational direction of the firm and managing key client relationships. John has 15 years of experience spanning across financial services and private equity, and specializes in corporate finance, capital markets, valuations, and strategic planning. Prior to Element78, John worked at Sterling Partners, a private equity firm with approximately $5 billion of assets under management, as a vice president in the corporate finance group. John holds a B.S. in accounting from Dominican University and MBA with concentration in finance from The Brennan School of Business at Dominican University. John is a certified public accountant (inactive) and certified valuation analyst.
Adam East, Principal
Adam East is a co-founder and Principal, responsible for leading the firm’s financial consulting practice. Prior to Element78, Adam worked at Sterling Partners as the Director of Portfolio Reporting, where he was responsible for managing a team that monitored and evaluated the financial and operational performance of Sterling’s portfolio companies. Adam has nearly a decade of experience as a senior analyst and specializes in due diligence, analytics and financial reporting. Adam holds a B.B.A cum laude in finance from Loyola University.
Gary Modrow, Principal
Gary Modrow is a Principal of Element78, where he is responsible for firm strategy and business development activities. He leads the firm’s transaction advisory practice, with a focus on transaction diligence, execution, and integration. Gary has over 10 years of experience spanning across financial services, private equity, management consulting, and M&A execution. He specializes in corporate finance, strategic planning, financial and operational improvement, and transaction diligence and integration. Prior to Element78, he led the execution of the corporate M&A strategy of a division of a Fortune 500 manufacturing and distribution firm. He was responsible for deal origination, execution, and integration. He was also involved in over $750M of transaction value across nine acquisitions or joint-ventures. Gary holds his BA in Accounting from Illinois Wesleyan University and his MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Gary is a certified public accountant (inactive) and certified valuation analyst.
